Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Applied ("we," "our," or "us") is a job-search workspace available at useapplied.xyz. We are operated as an independent service. Questions about this policy can be directed to devstackslabs@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account name and profile picture.
• Job data: job postings, notes, statuses, contacts, and other content you create inside the app.
• Screenshots: full-page screenshots of job URLs you submit, stored via Cloudinary.
• Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and debugging.
• Extension data: if you use the Applied Chrome extension, the page URL and any job details visible on the page (title, company, location, salary, description text) are read client-side and sent to our API to create the job entry on your board. See Section 3 for full details.

We do not collect payment information. Applied is free and we do not sell your data.

3. Chrome Browser Extension

The Applied Chrome extension ("Applied — Save Jobs") lets you save job postings to your board from any website. Here is exactly what it does and does not do:

• Authentication token: after you connect the extension to your Applied account, a session token is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. It never leaves your device except in requests to api.useapplied.xyz.
• Page content: when you save a job, the extension reads the active tab's URL and attempts to extract structured data (job title, company name, location, salary, description) from the page DOM — the same information you can see on screen. This data is sent only to api.useapplied.xyz to create your job entry.
• No third-party data sharing: the extension communicates exclusively with Applied's own API. No page data is sent to advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party.
• No background browsing activity: the extension only reads page content at the moment you explicitly trigger a save (via the toolbar popup or right-click menu). It does not monitor, log, or transmit your browsing history.
• Permissions used: contextMenus (right-click "Save to Applied"), storage (local token), tabs (get current URL, close auth tab), activeTab + scripting (read page content to extract job details), notifications (save confirmation).

4. How we use your data

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Applied service.
• To authenticate your account and keep it secure.
• To send transactional emails (password resets, account notices). We do not send marketing email without your consent.
• To diagnose bugs and monitor service health.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party processors:

• Cloudinary — screenshot image storage.
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — frontend hosting.

6. Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing devstackslabs@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR or CCPA to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at devstackslabs@gmail.com.

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email for material changes and update the "Last updated" date above.
